The Sticky Keys feature is a handy tool that allows you to press one key at the time, and not all at once, when using keyboard shortcuts that include SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, and Windows logo key. However, some people don’t like it and prefer the old-fashioned way and would like Sticky Keys turned off.
Therefore, if you belong to that group of people, or want them turned off for any other reason, these are the ways you can do it.
How to turn off Sticky Keys on Windows 10
Turning off your Sticky Keys can be achieved in a couple of ways and here, you are going to be introduced to the three that are most common.
First, with the help of keyboard.
- This process is the fastest and the simplest and demands that you simultaneously press two keys on the keyboard, which can be either, CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, or Windows logo key.
Second, through the Ease of Access settings.
- In this process, you should first open the “Ease of Access” that can be found through the Search box, in which you need to type “Ease of Access”
and when it appears among the results, left-click on it.
- After that, in the newly opened window, move the toggle bellow “Press one key at a time for keyboard shortcuts” to off
and that is it. The Sticky Keys are now turned off.
Third, through the Control Panel.
- In this approach, you must first double-click on the Sticky Keys icon that is located in your computer’s Taskbar
and after you do, deselect “Turn on Sticky Keys”,
confirm it by pressing “OK”
and voila, your Sticky Keys are turned off.
